Exotic Pets

At Veterinary Medical Center, we love all pets – whether they’re scaly, feathered, or furry! Our experienced veterinarian, Dr. Alexis Pennings, can advise you about proper care, feeding, and maintenance of your pet, as well as treat illnesses and conditions specific to their species.

Many of these pets require a very particular environment to thrive, and it’s important you have a veterinarian experienced in their care to help.

Exotic Pet Wellness Exams

Just like cats and dogs, exotic pets require regular veterinary care. During their wellness visits, Dr. Pennings will assess their overall health and well-being, ensuring they stay happy and healthy year-round.

Regardless of species, we recommend annual wellness exams for every patient.  Exotic pet care exams include a complete health check and conversation regarding husbandry, nutrition, handling, habitat, and other factors that determine their quality of life. We also offer radiology and ultrasound services to aid in diagnosing and treating health concerns in exotic pets. If you notice any sign of disease or illness in your pet, please bring it to our attention immediately. What appears to be a minor infection or a small cold can escalate very quickly.
