Dr Pennings grew up on a farm in Abingdon raising sheep and horses.
She completed her undergraduate degree at Mary Washington and then her veterinary school at Virginia Tech, graduating in 2018.
Dr. Pennings has performed veterinary work in various states (and a few other countries, too!), but recently made the move back to her family roots. Her professional interests include surgery, dentistry, exotic pet care, and end of life care.
In her free time, Dr. Pennings likes to spend time with her dog, her 2 guinea pigs, and her bearded dragon. She enjoys woodworking, riding her motorcycle, hiking, reading, and is an avid Formula One racing fan.
